ABCs of Heritage Lake: "O"-Opportunity to Swim at the Pool

ABCs of Heritage Lake

"O" - Opportunity to swim at the POOL

(original post was made on Sept. 2nd on Heritage Lake Escape Facebook page)

I would like to thank Kim Curran who gladly shared some pool fun facts.

Just to give a little history, the original pool was in front of the Activity Center. I personally have only seen it in pictures, but have enjoyed stories shared by others about that pool. After it was closed, for a time there wasn't a community pool. Thanks to donations and hard work, the new pool was built.

Pool Fun Facts:

The new pool opened in July of 2012, so this is year 10 of it being opened.

The pool is 20 yards long, holds 65,000 gallons of water, and goes from 3ft to 6ft.

The facility also has a splash pad and baby pool.

It is open 7 days a week from Memorial weekend through Labor Day.

There are around 10 employees on staff. Some work a few hours and some work almost full time.

This year 59 family passes were sold, which also broken down is 226 adult passes, 124 youth passes. 77 punch cards have also been sold.

Kim Curran has worked at the pool for 4 years. The last 2 years, she has been the manager. She really enjoys it and looks forward to it every year.

This year in the concession stand, they added some new items for little kids, such as, chicken nuggets, teddy grahams, goldfish crackers, and animal crackers.

They have also tried to have fun dress up weekends, like Hawaiian theme, Neon, Patriotic, Mix Match or Crazy, and Favorite swimwear.

I would like to thank Kim and the entire pool staff for all that they do. They do a great job!!

This is the last pool weekend(also open Monday), so if you have time, you might want to swing by to enjoy it. Summers go by, way too quickly!!

Looking at the attached pool hours, you will see that water aerobics is offered. Additionally, you can schedule swim lessons.

Often times, I bring my computer and do work poolside. If you happen to see me this weekend, please stop by and say Hello!
