Summertime

It doesn’t look like much now, but the pollinator garden is getting started. Milkweed is in abundance and according to my plant application, orange cone flour, sunflower, even ragweed, which are pollinators, are coming up. With the coming weeks of strong sunshine,I anticipate good growth and flowers.

The garden club enjoyed a trip to the Hobbit Herb Farm in June. The owner of the farm took us on a walking tour and explained the many plants that are available there. Most of these plants are either medicinal in use or edible. A short drive from Heritage Lake it is well worth your time to visit. In July, our merry gardeners will travel to a you-pick flower garden, location TBD. We will meet at the clubhouse at 9:30 AM Thursday, July 10. Don’t let the lack of specific location stop you from joining us. We’ll get it figured out and we’ll have a great time. Hope to see you then.
